Maintaining a clean filter is very important to the performance of your SoyaJoy. If you are experiencing problems with your machine, e.g., watery soymilk, boil-over, or soybeans not ground fine, the first thing you need to do is check is the filter. It may appear clean, but when examined closely, a film of dry soy milk blocking the tiny holes of the mesh, especially near the bottom, will be evident. When the tiny holes are clogged, water will not circulate vigorously throughout the filer during grinding, beans may not be stirred and ground well, and the resultant milk may be watery. Watery soy milk may also cause boil-over. We have had returns of clogged filters from customers who insisted that their filters were clean. After we cleaned them, the machines worked perfectly.

The filter is made of 100% stainless steel and will last a long time with proper care and cleaning. It can be washed with any household cleaning product. The stainless steel will not react with cleaning agents and will not be contaminated by detergent residue if it's rinsed well after washing.

The key is to clean the filter immediately after each use. With a little practice, It takes between one and two minutes to clean it well. Here is how I do it:

When the machine signals that the milk is done, lift the machine head by the handle and rinse the filter and the heating element under running tap water to cool them down. Then remove the filter. Discard or save the okara and rinse the filter throughout with running water, using the included brush.

SoyaJoy Magic Cleaner is now available! Read about how easily it cleans your filter.
